Photographing New PK Safety PremisesTuesday April 12, 2016
Internal and External Photographs of the new PK Safety Premises in Ystrad Mynach
When I first saw the new premises for PK Safety on the Dyffryn Industrial Estate in Ystrad Mynach, just outside Caerphilly, I was really impressed. The new build is on a new purpose built site and is perfect for a rapidly growing business like PK Safety.
PK Safety, who is a specialist supplier of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safetywear, had been based in Abercynon, but their growth in recent years meant that space was at a premium. The move to new premises could not have happened at a better time. I photographed the building in 3 stages:
- When it was simply an empty shell with work starting on the interior;
- After the warehouse racking had been installed and some of the office partitioning;
- Once complete with everyone in and working;
It is always good to see a building evolve and the final layout was very impressive. I used my standard 24-105 lens and also my wide angle fish-eye lens when the angle was tight. It was also great to see an photograph I took last year of safety boots splashing in water featuring boldly on their trade counter.
PK Safety is pretty unique in their business approach. The new premises have break out areas with comfy sofas, an area of AstroTurf for brainstorming and even a gym.
The move was not the only reason to photograph the new building as PK Safety had also just rebranded with a fresh and vibrant new logo designed by JSquared Marketing. The log on the front of the building looks fabulous.
A selection of the photographs of the new premises can be seen in the Factory and Site Photography section on my website.
Photographing successful Welsh businesses is one of the best parts of my job as a Commercial and Industrial Photographer in South Wales and I am sure that PK Safety will continue to blossom.
