Collection: Legends Hospitality Robert Jones JPR Williams

Prior to the Wales and England Six Nations test match in Cardiff (23rd February 2019), I had the pleasure of being the event photographer at the Legends Hospitality rugby lunch with Robert Jones.  The pre-game event was held at the Radisson Blu hotel.  Main speaker Robert Jones was an outstanding scrum half playing for Wales and the British and Irish Lions.  He spoke about his life in rugby.  This included the infamous ‘Battle of Ballymore’ in 1989.  In the 2nd test of the three test series, Robert Jones and Nick Farr-Jones started an all-out fracas.  The incident is widely believed to have provided the platform for the Lions to win the 2nd test and then the series.

After dinner, there was a Q&A with Wales and British Lions legendary full-back JPR Williams.  As always, JPR was honest and frank about today’s game.  Interestingly, both Robert Jones and JPR believed that Wales could beat England if they performed to their best ability.  Which they did, securing a precious 21-13 victory to keep their Six Nations dreams alive.
