In an illustrious rugby union career, Robert Jones won 54 caps for Wales and 3 for the British and Irish Lions. He also played 286 games for Swansea RFC, his one and only club.
Robert’s stories of life as a rugby player, at a time when professionalism was in its infancy, captivated the audience. He talked about the challenges of touring New Zealand with Wales, his infamous duel with Nick Farr-Jones on the British Lions tour in 1989, playing alongside Jonathan Davies, and being a member of the 1987 Wales team that secured third place in the 1987 Rugby World Cup. This was a perfect evening for any rugby union enthusiast.
