Pen y Fan at Dusk

HomeimagesPen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons on another training walk for the Ty Hafan #5in55 mountain challenge, I got the opportunity to photograph the landscape as the sun set. Pne y Fan is the final mountain in our #5in55 mountain challenge after Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Cadair Idris and is, arguably the easiest.  However, it does not feel easy when you are walking up from the car park. I walked up to the top of Pen y Fan before dropping down to walk around and then up Cribyn.  The views were amazing and as I walked the long shadows of the mountains filled the valleys as the sun dropped in the sky. After climbing down from Cribyn, I walked back up Pen y Fan before taking the Storey Arms route back to the car park.  The 14.2km (8.8 miles) walk took 3hrs 46 minutes and was excellent preparation for the challenge in July 2018.
