May 2020 was the perfect month for hiking and cycling. Watching Spring unfold in beautiful sunshine has been special. My daily routine has included hiking and cycling, which has been precious. I intend to maintain this change in lifestyle once everything starts going back to normal. I never appreciated how important it is to allow yourself time to think and breathe. I’ve walked in the late afternoon, in early morning as the sun was rising and watched the sun set. It has been exhilarating. Before the coronavirus crisis, my training for the Ty Hafan 10nTaff challenge would have intensified considerably. However, as per the guidelines, I’ve kept my training local, although increased the miles and time. This local training has forced me to discover walks and cycle routes I didn’t know existed. And here are just a small selection of some of the photographs I have taken on my travels around Church Village in South Wales.
Training in the month: Hiking (26 1/2 hours 90 miles), Cycling (7 3/4 hours 56 miles) & 7780 strength exercises.
