Buildings
Buildings are great to photograph, especially when the architect has been imaginative. I have had the opportunity to photograph houses during construction, finished new builds, restored buildings, buildings of historic interest, and houses for sale. When photographing buildings I consider colour, texture, shape and straight horizontal and vertical lines. Vital ingredients for any construction-related photograph.
Charities
As part of my company’s social responsibility, I support our local community by providing photography for charities. My professional imagery and photography services help our local charities communicate their important messages to raise awareness and funds. Events
As an event photographer in South Wales I mainly photography events in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, although I have also photographed events in London and Manchester. My assignments include Awards, Exhibitions and Corporate Events with clients that include the BBC, South Wales Chamber of Commerce, BITC Cymru and Business Growth. Faces
Having professionally taken business headshots is really important in today’s digital world. The headshot is used on social media (especially LinkedIn), on websites, as an accompaniment to company press releases, and even on business cards. On every business headshot photoshoot, I provide guidance on how an individual should stand, their expression, and suitable clothing. My objective is to create a business portrait that is professional and engaging, but also captures an individual’s character. I take business headshots for professionals at their place of work, on location, or in our studio. Our portable studio means that we can photograph the headshots of an entire team on location, keeping lost time to a minimum. Product
Product photography is so varied. One moment I am photographing an Aston Martin V8 Zagato Volante at the Goodwood Festival of Speed for <a href="https://www.caigauge.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Caerbont Automotive Instruments</a> and the next it is a collection of waste batteries for <a href="https://www.mastermagnets.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bunting</a>. Many of my product photography assignments are on site, where I can use my experience of working in engineering. Having spent over twenty-years working on sites across the world, I thoroughly enjoy being clad in safety boots, high-viz, and safety glasses whilst taking some great photographs of equipment in action. Scenic
My love of photography started when I was given a Polaroid Instamatic at the age of 14. Immediately, I started taking photographs, most of which I still have today. So, as well as being a professional photographer, photography is also my hobby, especially landscape photography. Being a keen walker means I get the opportunity to photograph most amazing landscapes. This is just a small selection of some of my favourite locations for landscape photography such as the Garth Hill (near Pentyrch), Pen-y-Fan (Brecon Beacons) and the Wales Coastal Path.
Sports
I love sports photography. It could be taking photographs of a sports event such as the Golden Oldies Rugby or photographing a hospitality event with a sports celebrity. Photographing, meeting and listening to my sporting heroes is very special including celebrated sporting legends such as <a href="https://paulfearsphoto.co.uk/blog/portfolio/the-events-room-joe-calzaghe/">Joe Calzaghe</a> (Boxing), <a href="https://paulfearsphoto.co.uk/blog/portfolio/jonathan-davies-welsh-charitables/">Jonathan Davies</a> (Rugby) and Paul Merson (Football). Weddings
To be a Wedding Photographer, you have got to love photographing weddings. It is so very special. And it may sound strange, but being asked to be a couple’s wedding photographer is a real honour. As <a href="https://www.doubletakephoto.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Double Take Photography</a>, Jo Davies and I photograph weddings together in South Wales and South West England. As a male-female wedding photography team, we aim to take those photographs that tell the story of your wedding day. Our photographs are fun, emotional and a lasting memory of a wonderful day. Apart from the necessary formal photographs, we focus on capturing candid photos and engage with the whole wedding party to get relaxed group and couple photos.
