I have had the great honour of photographing the annual dinner for The Concrete Society Wales Region since 2015.  Every year, the dinner raises funds for the amazing Wooden Spoon charity leading to the dinner being known as ‘Concrete Spoon’.  The event is always hosted by Sean Holley, who has a masterly skill of encouraging guests to bid for auction items to raise funds for the charity.  And the 2023 event broke all records.  The event raised £33,500 for the Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby who provide grants to children-focused projects across the UK and Ireland.  The rugby royalty at this year’s even was All Black Andrew Mehrtens and Wallaby Michael Lynagh.  Two legends of the game who entertained the audience with rugby tales from their playing days.  A brilliant afternoon held at Cardiff RFC’s Arms Park.
