The South Wales division of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) held their annual dinner at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel in November 2023.  The CIBSE is the professional body that exists to advance and promote the art, science and practice of building services engineering, to invest in education and research, and to support the community of built environment professionals in their pursuit of excellence.  The annual dinner brought together industry professionals from across South Wales and included the announcement of the HNC and BEng student prize winners, Timothy Vincent and Xenofon Onisiforou, introduced by Gerald Israel of Bridgend College and Owen Gray of the University of West England and presented by Tom DeBoeck and Lionel James of the CIBSE.  After dinner, guests were treated to an explosive presentation from Fran Scott, a neuroscientist by education but an engineer at heart.
