Melincourt Falls

Melincourt Falls (Sgwd Rhyd Yr Hesg in Welsh) is one of several spectacular waterfalls in an area of South Wales known as Waterfall Country.  The waters of Melin Court Brook cascade over the 80 foot (24m) high Lower Pennent Sandstone rock face.  The sight and sound is amazing and it is no wonder that J.M.W. Turner chose to paint them in 1794.  The falls are located near the village of Resolven and are accessible via a public footpath.
