Vaughan Gething MS, the Welsh Government’s Minister for Economy, visited gauge and instrument designer and manufacturer Caerbont Automotive Instruments (CAI) on Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day.  CAI Managing Director Gavin Roberts gave Mr Gething a tour of the facility, where the company continues to manufacture SMITHS gauges for classic cars such as the Jaguar E-Type, AC Cobra and Aston Martin DB5 as well as designing new gauges for the reimagined Porsche 911 produced by Singer Vehicle Design.  Mr Roberts explained the impact of the move towards vehicle electrification with a rise in the number of projects for new electric vehicles and the electrification of classic cars.
