Manufacturing is the cornerstone of the world’s economy.  In the UK, we have a rich manufacturing history, dating back to the origins of the industrial revolution, and introduced techniques and products that have changed the world.  Manufacturing still plays a vitally important role in the UK economy and as an Industrial Photographer I get to see and photograph some incredible operations.  There are many hidden gems, many who are leaders in their field.  The photograph opportunities in manufacturing plants are extensive and this particular set were taken of welding at the Bunting plant in Berkhamsted.  Welding is great to photograph with lots of sparks and smoke and works particularly well in black and white.
