John Inverdale returned to host the 2025 edition of The Events Room‘s Speaker of the Year at the Vale Hotel in Hensol, South Wales. The three guest speakers were Robert Croft MBE (former Welsh cricketer who played for Glamorgan and England); television presenter Jeff Stelling; and David ‘Flats’ Flatman (sports pundit who played club rugby for Saracens, Bath and England). This was a treat for any sports fan, with each speaker relaying stories from their illustrious careers. After an audience vote, the 2025 Speaker of the Year trophy was awarded to David Flatman after telling the story of being a naive, young man on tour with England in South Africa.
