10nTaff Training August 2021

Training for the 2022 10nTaff challenge for Tŷ Hafan has been tough in August 2021.  An ongoing back issue has restricted the training, although I managed 15 walks covering 69 miles in 23 hours, ascending over 11,000 feet.  The weather was typically Welsh, ranging from warm evenings to heavy downpours and ending with cooler Autumnal temperatures.  My August walks included:

  • Up and around the Garth Hill, my training playground
  • Craig-yr-Allt across to Caerphilly Mountain
  • Up and around Rudry Mountain
  • Cwm Coke Works
  • Pen-y-Fan to catch a beautiful late Summer sunset

Training so far in 2021:  Hiking – 430 miles, climbing 58,037 feet (Everest is 29,029 feet) in 141 hours.
