Finally, after two postponements, the 10nTaff is on for 2022! With the challenge of climbing 10 mountains and cycling from Brecon to Cardiff in 55 hours, serious training resumed in January. I managed 15 walks covering 74 miles in 24 1/2 hours, ascending over 10,600 feet. The weather went from torrential rain to freezing cold and I often ended up walking in the dark. A decent start but much much more training is needed. The January walks included:
- A very wet Horseshoe Ridge Walk in the Brecon Beacons
- Up and around the Garth Hill, my training playground
- Craig-yr-Allt across to Caerphilly Mountain
- Up and around Rudry Mountain
- Cwm Coke Works near Beddua
