Photographing Anna and Huw’s wedding was special for so many reasons. They are an amazing family whom I first met through Tŷ Hafan. Anna is one of the inspirational founders of Oshi’s World, a local charity based in Penarth, South Wales, inspired by a little boy called Oshi. The founders set out to create an accessible play space for children with disabilities and their family and friends.
Anna and Huw’s wedding was at the beautiful and intimate Rosedew Farm, near Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan. Having photographed the family previously, I knew that this wedding was going to be different. Anna looked amazing in a stunning and very unique dress whilst wearing a fabulous pair of glittery gold Doctor Marten boots. After the ceremony, which took place in the converted barn, we took a group photo from up high by hanging out the window of one of onsite rooms. Just like Anna and Huw, the couple photographs were unique. Firstly, we took a bottle of champagne and some glasses into a nearby field for some relaxed and fun photographs whilst they had an opportunity to spend some precious time alone (almost). Later, as the sun was setting, we made our way down to the dramatic, rocky Llantwit Major coastline. It was an amazing day spent with wonderful people. Weddings like this are the reason why I love being a wedding photographer.
