Greenstream Flooring CIC (Community Interest Company) is a great example of innovative recycling benefiting the local community. They offer a range of reused carpet tiles for use in the home, at work and for community projects. Carpet tiles are a complex material made with nylon and designed to last for 20 years or more. When office carpet tiles are replaced, many areas have hardly seen any wear, but these tiles end up in the waste along with worn tiles. Reuse was recognised as an opportunity for such tiles, enabling a more sustainable option when people and organisations are looking for flooring. It is a simple , but very clever concept of reducing waste and, in many cases, helping people in the local community. I was asked to photograph some of the tiles for promotion on their website and social media.
