In South Wales, we are blessed with some of the most wonderfully restored Castles in the world. In fact, there are more castles per square mile than in any other country of the world. Maybe this is a sign of how rebellious the Welsh were!  Many of the castles in South Wales are now cared for by Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service working for an accessible and well-protected historic environment for Wales.  Slowly, I am working my way around all those castles with the aim of producing a gallery of a time long since passed.
