On 15th June 2024, intrepid fundraisers for Cancer Research Wales took on the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge. In one day, the team climbed Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan. However, they were blessed with some of the worst weather I have ever experienced when climbing the Welsh 3 Peaks. Despite heavy rain and high winds, this incredible group of people never waivered. Under the guidance and watchful eyes of Jake and his JT Expeditions team, the team not only completed the Welsh 3 Peaks, but did it in just 17 hours and 30 minutes, including all the travel in between the mountains. An amazing achievement in very difficult conditions, as the photographs will show!
- Yr Wyddfa (via the Pyg track) – 8.02 miles in 4 hours and 18 minutes, gaining 2,366 feet in height;
- Cadair Idris – 6.27 miles in 4 hours 55 minutes, gaining 2,841 feet;
- Pen-y-Fan – 3.95 miles in 1 hour and 53 minutes, gaining 1,413 feet;
