On 14th June 2025, intrepid fundraisers for Cancer Research Wales took on the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge. In one day, the team climbed Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan. However, they faced some awful weather, with thunderstorms on Yr Wyddfa and thick low cloud on both Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan. Despite weather, this incredible group of people never waivered and finished the challenge in the darkness at the bottom of Pen-y-Fan at around 12:30 in the morning. Throughout the challenge, the team was under the guidance and watchful eyes of the fantastic JT Expeditions team. An amazing achievement in very difficult conditions, as the photographs will show!
- Yr Wyddfa (via the Pyg track) – 8.27 miles in 5 hours and 38 minutes, gaining 2,349 feet in height;
- Cadair Idris (via the Pony Track) – 5.9 miles in 5 hours 28 minutes, gaining 2,252 feet;
- Pen-y-Fan – 3.95 miles in 2 hours and 23 minutes, gaining 1,413 feet;
